✦ Operating Model Debt©  ·  Department and Role Map

The gap does not sit at C level.
It sits one floor down.

Asking a company to change is a large ask. Asking a function to fix the one handover that keeps breaking is not. Below every executive sits the department that carries the debt day to day. Fourteen departments. Sixty-four operating roles. For each one: the debt layers they actually own, which POLARYN domains apply to them, and the moves that pay debt down inside their span of control.

Read this before the map

If a domain does not apply to your role, we say so. A Learning and Development Manager has no use for Value Delivery Services, and a Data Engineering Lead has no use for Customer Success Management. Every strikethrough below is deliberate. Two domains, Value Delivery Services and Customer Success Management, are still in development, so anything routed to them is advisory led today rather than a named asset.

Found your role? Measure the debt before you plan the fix.

Recognising the pattern is not the same as having a number. The index below is produced by the assessment and nowhere else, which is exactly why it is worth having.

Step one

Find your role

The debt layers you own and which domains apply.

Step two

The 9 question check

Public, free, no email required. Index, tier and divergence.

Step three

The full assessment

28 cells across 7 domains and 4 layers, with the report.

Step four

The conversation

A named advisor, with your role and results already on the table.
